10 ideas to have fun with your child

Recently, many families have been trying every weekend to arrange a program for their children. Puppet theater, a children’s town, an entertainment and sports center, a zoo – large cities offer a lot of options on how to spend time with a child.

However, such a lifestyle is not available in smaller settlements, and also requires regular financial investments. In addition, getting used to the constant entertainment outside the home, children quickly lose interest in everyday or homework.

How can you spend time with your child so that it is unusual and fun for everyone?
1. Young naturalist
Studying wildlife is an exciting activity for any age. It is especially suitable for children of a calm, contemplative nature.

Go out together to the park, garden or just outside. Try to find 10 different types of trees and bushes and collect a herbarium from them. Consider all the insects and other animals encountered along the way. If an ant trail passes nearby, you can sprinkle several large crumbs next to it and watch how the ants organize their delivery to the anthill. Children of 6-7 years old will play a “guessing game” with pleasure: whose sheet is this? What kind of tree gives such seeds? which bird is singing now?

2. Fun starts
Sports games are suitable for active children, and they will bring the greatest joy if parents also participate.

Pick up a few games in advance that require a small number of participants. This can be a race with some object in his hands or on his head, a slalom with a ball, or throws of rolled socks into an impromptu basket that constantly moves. The main thing is that the game coincides with the age characteristics of the child.

3. Excursions
Museums and exhibitions are a great place to spend time with children. The main thing is to choose what will be interesting specifically for children. Kids 2-3 years old will be happy to attend an exhibition of animals or birds, even a very small one. Preschoolers will already be interested in the Museum of Natural History, various exhibitions of entertaining science and experimentaliums. Older children will appreciate the exhibits of the Museum of Military Glory or the Archaeological Hall.

The impressions obtained in the museum can be consolidated at home by watching an educational film about animals, an album with reproductions of paintings or by conducting a simple chemical experiment. For those parents whose imagination or experience is far from science, there are a number of kits for archaeological research, growing crystals, and even creating a robot from a plastic bottle.

4. Theater
In many cities, children’s performances are held only several times a year. However, it is not necessary to go anywhere to enjoy the theatrical art. Children are easily carried away by the idea of the theater and are ready to take part in its creation themselves.

puppet show

Finger puppets are suitable for kids, with which you can play simple tales. Children 4-6 years old love to make paper dolls themselves and play with them invented scenes and stories. Together with schoolchildren, it is already possible to develop a real scenario, make costumes from improvised means and put on a real performance.

5. The search for treasure
This is a great way to spend time with a child of any age, since all children dream of finding a treasure!

Searches can be carried out both at home and on the street (for those who are older). As a treasure, usually there is something small, but pleasant – a bag of chocolates, an unusual shell or stone, a soft toy.

Before starting the game, you need to think over the route of searches and draw a map, however, you can use the classic method of “hot-cold”. With due preparation, the search for the treasure turns into a real quest!

6. Family dinner
Teach your child how to cook a simple meal or simply engage him in making dinner for the whole family. Let him first choose one of the dishes, and then help him cook.

7. Carnival
Almost all children like to dress up, so this is a win-win option for rainy weather when you cannot go outside.

Take out colorful clothes, pieces of cloth, balls and scarves from a cabinet or pantry, stock up with colored cardboard, tissue paper, foil and glue. Let everyone come up with and make a carnival costume for that hero who he would like to become.

8. Amateur gardener
If you do not know what to do in the evening with a child, take him to gardening. This quiet and at the same time fascinating activity will help to reduce activity in the afternoon and remove the accumulated overexcitation.

To do this, plant the seeds of plants with your child so that you can observe their growth day after day. In the conditions of a city apartment, the usual table greens (dill, parsley, basil), onions, small indoor tomatoes, and also flowers grow best.

Make your child responsible for plants. Teach him to regularly water the planted, monitor the lighting and take care of the ground.
